The main purpose of this blog is to study Shakespeare performance.

I love all Shakespeare but I am particularly interested in productions that adapt the context of the play, include textual edits, or gender-bend the characters. My own theatre interests include classical plays with a twist along with feminist and political theatre.

The Shakespeare Study attempts to:

  • Document and archive Shakespeare productions
  • Critically analyze the productions and discuss the experience
  • Be forthcoming about my own Shakespeare biases (as all the opinions are my own)

I don’t look at this blog as a reviewing site but simply a way for me to understand my own theatre experiences and have something to look back on.

I also have this blog so I don’t forget things later.
